Buy License
Location: no longer a button of its own on the ribbon — on the ribbon, buying lives in the License button (tab DVD Addin → group About). This command remains in Find Cmd (Ctrl+Shift+Q) and in the list of commands you can assign a shortcut to.

What it does
Opens the License box, which has the 🛒 Buy License button right next to the sign-in form. It does not jump straight into the purchase window: after paying you still sign in with the password sent by email, and that happens in this very box, so going through the License box means nobody gets lost halfway.
There used to be two "Buy License" commands on the ribbon: an item in the About menu (keytip GK) and a large button shown only while the machine was not activated (keytip BL). Both are merged into the License button, which relabels itself Buy License once the trial has ended and counts down "Trial: N days left" during the trial. The two old keytips are gone; use Alt, G, U, K to open the License button from the keyboard.
How to use
- Press Ctrl+Shift+Q, type "buy", pick Buy License and press Enter — or press the shortcut you assigned to this command. No workbook needs to be open.
- The License box opens. The status card at the top says whether you are on trial, expired or activated.
- Not activated (on trial, trial ended, plan expired): click 🛒 Buy License and go through the purchase window's 3 steps:
- Step 1/3 — Pick plan: Standard or Pro, the term and the number of machines; the price panel updates as you choose.
- Step 2/3 — Your details: Email (it becomes your sign-in email), Full name, Company (optional).
- Step 3/3 — Payment: a VietQR code with the bank, account number, amount and transfer memo. Scan it with your banking app and leave the memo untouched.
- When the window says Done, close it. The License box shows a green line telling you to check your email (including Spam) for the password; the Email field is already filled in — paste the password and click Sign in.
- Already activated: the box shows Renew / Upgrade to Pro instead of Buy — use it to renew or move to Pro, with your account email prefilled.
Assigning a shortcut
To reach the purchase box with one key combination: open Preferences → Shortcuts → ＋ Add command → pick Buy License → press the key combination. Shortcuts assigned to this command in earlier builds keep working; there is nothing to reassign.
Example
Lan relies on the command palette. When her 30-day trial ends she presses Ctrl+Shift+Q, types "buy" and presses Enter. The License box reports ✗ License expired; she clicks 🛒 Buy License, picks Standard, 1 year, 1 machine, and scans the QR. Closing the purchase window, a green line tells her to check her email; she pastes the temporary password, clicks Sign in and sets her own password. The ribbon button changes from Buy License back to License.
Notes
- Leave the transfer memo exactly as the purchase window generated it — it is the order reconciliation code; edit it and the system cannot match your payment.
- The email entered in step 2 becomes your sign-in email. When renewing, keep the account email you already use — paying with a different email creates a separate account.
- An internet connection is needed to fetch prices, create the order and generate the QR code.
- Buying is not activating — you still sign in once in the License box.
- No email after a few minutes: check your Spam folder before contacting support.
