Buy License
Location on ribbon: Tab DVD Addin → Group About
Command ID: btnBuyLicenseTop
What it does
Opens the Buy License dialog so you can choose a plan, enter your customer details, and get a bank-transfer QR code without leaving Excel. Once the transfer clears with the correct memo, the system reconciles the order automatically and emails the activation account to the address you supplied.
This is the shortcut placed directly on the ribbon. It only appears while the machine has no active license (trial or expired) and hides itself after activation succeeds. It opens exactly the same dialog as the Buy License command in the About group.
How to use
- Go to the DVD Addin tab → About group → click Buy License. The dialog runs through four steps; the blue header always shows which step you are on.
- Step 1 — Pick a plan. Choose the edition using the two tiles: Standard (light blue) or Pro (amber, marked with a PRO badge). Below that, pick a Duration and a Seats count from the two dropdowns. The blue price box updates immediately and shows the equivalent monthly rate. If a price change is scheduled, an extra amber box shows the upcoming amount. Click Continue.
- Step 2 — Customer information. Fill in Email (this address receives the activation account, so type it carefully), Full name, and Company. A missing or malformed entry raises a red error panel under the form. Click Continue.
- Step 3 — Payment. The screen shows the transfer details: Bank, Account number, Account holder, Amount, and Transfer memo, with a QR code on the right. Scan the QR in your banking app, or transfer manually using exactly that amount and memo. The green panel below shows the waiting status and a countdown.
- Step 4 — Done. When payment is registered, the dialog switches to a green checkmark screen with a note telling you to check your mailbox.
- Click Close, then open the License command and sign in with the new account to activate this machine.
Example
A three-person planning team at a contractor is on trial and needs the PRO commands — EVM, Lookahead, Baseline — before a package starts on site. The team lead clicks Buy License on the ribbon, picks the Pro tile in step 1 with a 12-month duration and 3 seats; the price box updates the total and the per-month rate right away. In step 2 he enters the engineering department email, his name, and the company name so the paperwork matches. In step 3 he opens his banking app, scans the QR, and leaves the generated memo untouched. Minutes later the screen turns into the green checkmark; the account email arrives, and each team member signs in on their own machine through the License command.
Notes
- Leave the generated transfer memo exactly as it is. It is the order reconciliation code — editing or mistyping it means the payment cannot be matched and has to be sorted out manually.
- The QR code and payment session expire; watch the countdown in step 3. If it runs out, close the dialog and start a new order.
- The dialog needs an internet connection to fetch pricing, create the order, and generate the QR code; offline machines cannot get past step 1.
- The email you enter in step 2 becomes your sign-in email. A typo sends the key to a mailbox you do not control and requires a support request to fix.
- This button hides itself from the ribbon once the machine is activated. To renew or add seats later, use the Buy License command in the About group.
- Paying is not the same as activating — you still have to sign in once through the License dialog.
